Loading... Please wait...The answer is both "yes" and "no". Yes, you can charge the eGo battery with a standard Joye 510 USB charging cable. But, if you have the AC charger where the 510 screws right into the adapter with no cable, then the eGo battery won't fit on charger.
The eGo battery will charge in a couple hours, if using the eGo charger: so about the same amount of time as a standard battery. However, if you use the standard 510 charger, it'll take about 4x as long, since the standard battery is 185 mAH while the eGo battery is 650 mAH.
With the advent of high power batteries like the eGo, there is a LOT of misinformation about the proper chargers and options for charging batteries. Here's an overview of the three different types:

* To put this in perspective, one cigarette takes about 3 minutes to smoke, and there are 20 cigarettes in a pack, so an hour of continuous use is about one pack of cigarettes worth.
There are two different charger types, but three uses for them:
Those last two options for the USB charger work very differently and can mean the difference between charging your battery or frying your battery. There are two different charger capacities available that work with 510 batteries. Here are the workable scenarios:
Because the eGo battery is higher capacity, the eGo wall charger puts out about 5x the charging current of the standard charger.
On a PC, most USB devices (like a printer) come with software called a device driver. This software tells the PC how much power the device needs. If there is no device driver software (none of our batteries have drivers), then the PC "assumes" it is a low power device, so it's safe to plug in and charge, though it may charge slower than plugged into the wall. We're guessing a Mac computers don't make that assumption. The solution we've seen work very well for Mac users is not to plug directly into the Mac, but to use a USB hub that is powered externally. This provides two benefits: Firstly, you aren't using up any of the USB ports on your Mac for your eCig passthrough and secondly, since the power is coming right from the wall to the USB hub, it will likely charge your eCig faster (or provide more power for your passthrough).
